I don’t know how the weather is where you are, but it is finally a gorgeous day in Dallas, and I plan to take full advantage of this semi-warm, sunny winter weather with a photoshoot. And then hanging out. And maybe a beer after everything is done because it’s the weekend!

There is nothing I have enjoyed more recently than crossing items off my daily to-do list, including blogging responsibilities, as well as work-related to-dos and household things, too. And then knocking out these said to-dos with a tall mug of Noble Coyote coffee, laced with a little sugar and almond milk, is the perfect way to spend a morning.

My dad sent some of these See’s Candies Lollipops to us as a Christmas gift… and I have been devouring them. Particularly the butterscotch and vanilla ones. (Sidenote: I hadn’t eaten a lollipop in YEARS before the box of these delightful pops arrived. Now I’m wondering why in the world I hadn’t heard about See’s earlier.)

Being a Tennessee girl, I have always supported local singer/songwriters. No, I’m not from Nashville… but growing up in Memphis, I got to hear a lot of fantastic music. And then when I moved to Nashville? I heard even more and became enthralled with the music of several singer/songwriters in town. I was thrilled when I stumbled upon the Nashville Indie Spotlight. Not only does it feature quite a few artists who I have heard of, but it also features a former classmate and friend. Also, all the music featured is really good.

Including a new issue of one of my favorite Southern magazines, Garden & Gun, as well as a Southern Biscuits book AND The Dark Knight Rises from a family member. It’s been a lovely week, mail-wise. And I’m sure y’all cannot guess what I’ll be whipping up this weekend. (Hint: It’ll call for lots of butter, probably buttermilk and will be topped with some homemade jam. Mmm.)

One of my goals for this year is to paint my nails more. So for the past three weeks, I have made a point to paint my nails one day a week… and to add a little sparkle to my regular colors. The hues I painted on my fingernails this week? Essie’s Pure Pearlfection and Ballet Slippers.

Ah, LOVE Essie’s Ballet Slippers. One of my go-to pale polishes, which are perfect this time of year. What a good idea, too, to paint nails more often. It’s such an easy way to make yourself feel a little more put-together/glamorous/fun! I’m trying to do the same as part of my “be more fancy” resolution.
You and me both, girl! I’ve had Ballet Slippers for years, and it NEVER fails me.
The painting of the nails is such a random thing for me, but I really like the idea of adding a little more pizzazz to my everyday look… and making myself feel a little more put together/glamorous/fun. Which polishes have you been using? And how are you planning to “be more fancy?” LOVING that resolution, btw!
