When I think about New Year’s Eve attire, my mind usually wanders to an image of some sort of sparkly/fabulous dress. The reality of the matter is that I usually end up doing something far less glamorous and that sparkly/fabulous number is way TOO much.
What do you do when you have NYE plans but they air a bit more on the casual side? Despite the fact that you are dressing down, I think it’s important to keep elements of fabulous/sparkly, even if they don’t involve glitter or sequins (then again, when aren’t those things appropriate). It’s still a fun holiday, after all.
My version of a casual NYE outfit consists of a basic sheer white buttoned down shirt, paired with a sassy, leather a-line mini skirt. I’ve added tights, as it’s a bit chilly outside and I imagine I’ll be more than thankful for them later in the night. I threw on a couple of gold accessories, some heels, grabbed a black clutch and WA-LA…I’m New Year’s Eve ready.
